Merit Tool is an overlooked industrial gem in Delaware County

Consultant reports a record-setting year for economic development in county during 2021

While much of the the economy across Indiana and the United States took a step back during the pandemic, Delaware County stepped up in the past year and broke records in investment, according to Brad Bookout, economic development director for the county.

Delaware County Touts 2021 Successes

Despite facing the uncertain economic headwinds of the pandemic, Delaware County officials say economic development “exploded” in 2021, measuring the highest amount of capital investments in county history. The county says it recorded $793 million in capital investments, a majority of which came from one project. In September, Poland-based CANPACK broke ground on an 862,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Muncie.

INOX Market Service Announces Plans to Locate North American HQ in Delaware County, IN

The company plans to locate its new North American headquarters in Delaware County. IMNA will invest over $15 million in machinery and construction of a new 139,800 square foot facility. INOX is a world leader in the cutting and forming of stainless steel.

WESCO To Move Into New Daleville Location

WESCO Distribution reaffirmed its commitment to Delaware County with plans to move its Daleville branch at 13880 W. Commerce Drive to a larger 50,000-square-foot-facility at 9101 S. Innovation Drive later this year. The new facility is being completed as a joint partnership between Briner Buildings and the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission.

Italian manufacturer announces Delaware County plans

Governor Eric J. Holcomb and Delaware County officials joined Filtrec S.p.A., an Italy-based manufacturer of filters and filter elements, in Milan this week as the company announced plans to locate its first U.S. operation in Indiana. The company will invest $1.3 million to establish a facility in Daleville, which will serve as the company’s North American headquarters.
